5 things to prepare before your NDIS audit
Ensure you download and review the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators documentation available on the NDIS website: www.ndiscommssion.gov.au/providers/ndis-practicestandards.
SAI Global’s on-demand webinar, NDIS: Navigating the Legal Minefield can also help you understand the associated legal requirements.
To maximise the value you receive, it is recommended that you complete the Self-Assessment Tool prior to the audit to identify any gaps you may need to address beforehand.
Your auditor will not only check you have the relevant documentation, processes, policies and procedures in place, but also your ability to demonstrate that they are implemented effectively.
This is essential to help us keep within the audit duration quoted to you, as well as make the audit experience less stressful for you!
Additionally, if your auditor requires access to any systems, ensure the appropriate access has been set up in advance.
As part of your audit, the auditor may need to visit other locations where you provide services, as well as conduct interviews of your staff and Participants who receive services.
Make sure this is prepared in advance to minimise the disruption to these sites, staff and participants on the day.
