Disability Support Workers: The Forgotten Workforce in COVID-19

Researchers from the Disability and Health unit at the University of Melbourne and UNSW Canberra conducted a survey of disability support workers about working during the pandemic. 357 disability support workers from around Australia completed the survey online between May and June 2020. 83% of respondents were women and 81% were born in Australia. They ranged in age from 18 to 75 years, with 31% over the age of 50 and 7% over 60 years of age.
