NSW iAwards 2019 - Centro ASSIST are winners!
We are proud to announce that Centro ASSIST has been named a winner at the NSW iAwards 2019! The awards were held by the Australian Information Industry Association at the end of May. The iAwards program is Australia’s longest running innovation recognition program. The iAwards reward Australian innovation that is making a difference. The awards seek to unearth innovation that can create positive change for the community.
There were ten iAwards Organisation Categories this year, and also three Student Categories. We won the category ‘Community Service Markets NSW.’ This category was for “Digital projects, products and services that break down the barriers that prevent some members of the community from fully participating in (and contributing to) society.” There was excellent competition in our category, so we are ecstatic to win. There were also some amazing Winners and Merit Recipients in the other categories. It is fantastic to see how other organisations in NSW are innovating.
The NSW awards were presented at a Gala Dinner, which was a great night in itself. The Hon. Victor Dominello MP displayed a great passion for innovation as the ceremony speaker. He gave a live demo of the new, cutting-edge planning app and parking meter payment app. The other guest speakers were Andrea Culligan a Partner at Deloitte, and Richard Savoie, the founding CEO at Staybil and 2018 iAwards Winner.
It feels great to be recognised for our work in the disability sector. We could never have imagined this success from our launch at the National Disability Services conference last year. We look forward to continuing our support for the disability sector into the future. Well done to Walter Tran, Bruce Nixon, Derek Renouf, Megan Nixon, Arahni Sont and Matthew King for all your hard work to make this win possible. Wish us luck - we are in the running for the National iAwards in August!
