NDIS Quarterly Report – 2019-20 Q3
The latest NDIS Quarterly Report to the COAG Disability Reform Council has been released.
We have pulled out some insights from the report which we found valuable.
Participants and their plans
The last quarter has seen a steady increase in participants with an 8% increase from Q2.
30% of new participants in the scheme are children aged 0-6 years. There has also been a 107% increase in children receiving initial supports in the ECEI gateway compared to last quarter.
There has been an increase of diversity among participants in the scheme.
There has been a continued reduction in participants under the age of 65 living in or entering aged care facilities.
Participant experiences and outcomes
NDIS participants’ involvement in the workforce is increasing. However, over time participants feel less supported to find meaningful work.
Participant satisfaction has increased for plan review. Access has seen a reduction in satisfaction.
Providers and the growing market
Summary of provider numbers and registration groups
Financial Sustainability
An interesting finding was that SIL expenditure has increased 31% over six quarters. This is a rate much more significant than the rate of inflation.
