5 tips for growing your NDIS client base
Expert blog series | 2 minute read
Whilst business and not for profits are excited with the opportunities to make a genuine difference in people’s lives, they are hampered by uncertainty about how to get their message out into the world in order to attract new clients. Here’s some tips to help you achieve that…
1. Know your ideal client profile
Once you have worked out an ideal client profile (age, gender, location, interests, disability type, needs they have which you can help with) of who specifically would be a good fit for your service, and their attributes, you can target your messaging to reach and appeal to them.
2. Strengthen relationships
Attend as many NDIS/disability sector workshops, events, expos, forums and other Interagency meetings as you can. Building good relationships with other providers can open up areas for growth (such as collaborations). Also, you can attract more clients if someone in your network is referring you. Find ways to give to others and they will, no doubt, be supportive of you too.
3. Have a great NDIS client success story ready
This could be a short story to tell about who you help and how. What difference the business is making (or is aiming to make). People love stories! Have a great one ready to go, as you may find it gets re-told and mentions what a difference you’ve made in someone’s life.
4. Exceed expectations
If you go above and beyond to assist or deliver an exceptional service or follow-up, you are building trust and creating true value and advocates for your business. Generating five star Google reviews will build the impression people will have of your business and give them good reason to work with you.
5. Have a strong presence online
There’s a saying that if you can’t be found online, then you don’t exist in the eyes of the consumer. More people are using the internet for a Google search on a range of devices (such as smart phones, tablets and computers) – therefore enabling people to find you and your service is vital. The method you use should be the preferred way your client (or referrer) would search. Keep updating the content and images, so Google ranks you higher in searches. Examples may include Google My Business, Social Media, your Website and Disability Services Directories. Have great content and images that reflect your target audience and provide regular updates showing that you are expert, active and helpful.
